Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide classified as a growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP). It stimulates the release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland via activation of the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a), providing a mechanism for increasing GH levels distinct from the hypothalamic growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) pathway.
By binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, Hexarelin mimics the action of ghrelin to stimulate GH release independently of somatostatin inhibition.
